Red Light Kitchen & Lounge

Logo Creation / Art and design Direction

Lucie Slone Meyers approached me in 2017 to help her create what would be her last restaurant project. Lucie, a Veteran Lexington restaurateur, had opened many city favorites including A La Lucie, Rosebud, Roy & Nadine’s, the Phoenix, Pacific Pearl and the Julep Cup. Saucy, eccentric and full of energy, Lucie captivated those she came across. It was an honor to work with her on her final project.  Quirky and world-themed, The Red Light Kitchen and Lounge was inspired by the nostalgia of the 50's diner sign.

Lucie and I discussed many avenues to take the direction of the sign she wanted to create.  Her goal was to eventually have the sign posted in her parking lot grabbing passers-by enticing them with flashing lights and savory smells.  After much deliberation, we settled on this modern take of an old tradition.
